Margie Miller is a painter, art conservator, and art educator based in Nevada City, CA. A graduate of the art department at University of California at Davis, she studied under renowned California artists Wayne Thiebaud and William T. Wiley. Miller’s paintings are in private and public collections throughout the West.

June Field Trip
Satava Art Glass Gallery - Jellyfish
Members will carpool to the Museum of Northern California in Chico to view a collaboration of poetry and multimedia art.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit Satava Art Glass Gallery and view the world-famous glass jellyfish sculptures.
Nancy Shaw will lead the trip. Car pool from the lower parking lot by the Club House. Must be there by 9:15am.

Lacy Elegance by Kathy Triolo
Members will be participating in a Cell Phone Camera Walk in Nevada City with Kathy Triolo, a Fine Art Photographer and Digital Artist. Focus will be on how to create powerful images with Long Exposure techniques and Black & White photography. Bring your smartphone and comfortable walking shoes. No experience necessary. April Field Trip
Members will be visiting the Tulip Festival at the Crystal Hermitage in Ananda Village in Nevada City to stroll and view the gardens with over 40,000 tulips. This is a ticketed event purchased in advance. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.
Crocker Art Museum Field Trip
Members will be visiting the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. We will carpool to the museum to view two exhibitions: A Sense of Beauty, Six Centuries of Paintings and Making Moves, A Collections of Feminisms. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

Linda Galusha, an acrylic artist who has won several awards at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival. Including the Pat Macias Award for “Behind Every Tree” and the 2 Dimensional Award for “the Path of Many Befores”.
AOTO Field Trip
Club members will be visiting the Nevada Theatre in Nevada City where they will be met by local artist and muralist Sarah Coleman. She will give a tour of the wall art that she created throughout the theatre and share her process in developing a narrative through specific images. Afterwards they will visit the Granucci Gallery in Grass Valley to view the annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival exhibit, Mobilize.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

AOTO Field Trip
Club members will be visiting the glass art studio of Laurel Vieaux in Nevada City. Laurel is a modern leaded glass artist who will give a tour of her studio and a short demonstration. Afterwards, they will also visit the Granucci Gallery in Grass Valley to view the exhibit Floral Dreams, featuring the works of six local artists. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

In college I majored in Industrial Arts and was fortunate to have studied under Art Carpenter, a master woodworker and furniture maker. Like so many who crossed paths with this talented woodworker, I was strongly influenced by his sense of style, design and craftsmanship. What he did for so many of us was to free us from traditional design and technique and open our eyes to imagination and originality.
Field Trip - Monet: The Immersive Experience
We will be visiting "Monet: The Immersive Experience" in Sacramento on Tuesday, Sept. 18th. This show combines video, light and music to capture the life and art of the great Impressionist artist, Claude Monet. Over 300 paintings and sketches will be showcased. Tickets are purchased online.
