Upcoming Classes

Zentangle – September 17, 2-4 p.m. Redbud Room
Instructor Betsy Smith, $20 to register – mesmith2591@gmail.com

Zentangle is an art technique using repeated patterns to create an art piece. Materials are simple - pen, pencil, and a paper tile. Because of the simplicity of the materials and the process, Zentangle is a great art technique for those who do not feel they can be an artist. Zentangle can stand alone as an art piece or can be added to any abstract or collage art to enhance it. In the class, you will learn the technique/process of Zentangle. From there, the world is wide open for you to interpret and use the patterns in many different ways. All materials will be provided. You will go home with a completed piece.

Beginning Watercolor – October 15, 2-4 p.m. Redbud Room
Patti Lawrence and Ray Slater, $25 to register promopatti@gmail.com

Ray and I will go over basic watercolor instruction. You will have hands on experience with Ray and I will give instruction on painting a greeting card. You do not need to bring anything as all supplies are free to use during the class. Participants will be given a supply list at the end of class so you can continue with lessons or paint on your own.

Introduction to Pastels – November 12th, 2-4p.m. Redbud Room
Linda Roemisch, $25 to register ljr@usa.com

Soft pastels are known for their high pigment concentration, which allows for rich, luminous artwork. Linda will give hands on instructions as you create a wonderful piece of art. She will show you how to pick a limited palette and do a quick wet loose under-painting using hard pastels. Soft pastels can then be added on top to create a brilliant piece of artwork. Various reference subject matters will be supplied. All materials will be provided.
